Mark Teixeira said this weekend that he lives for hot streaks during the course of a season. Following the Yankees’ three-game sweep of the A’s in Oakland, Teixeira is officially in the midst of one. Teixeira went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles in Sunday’s 2-0 win over the A’s, driving in one of the Yankees’ two runs. Teixeira finished the series 8-for-14 with three home runs, three doubles and eight RBI, his best three-day stretch of the season. “I’ve been waiting for that hot streak and I’ve found it the past few days,” Teixeira said. “Sometimes that’s the name of the game. It’s just getting hot, and as a team we’re winning some games, which is great.” Teixeira’s eight home runs rank third on the Yankees, while his 29 RBI are tied with Nick Swisher for the team lead.
